Rising and Lateral Mains

Rising and Lateral Mains are the mains and service electricity cables which distribute electricity from the ground floor incoming point (cut out) to the individual meters within a multi-occupancy building, both horizontally across the premises and vertically to reach all floors.

It is the responsibility of the BNO (Building Network Operator), usually the freeholder or landlord, of a multi-occupancy building to ensure these electrical installations are compliant with Current Safety Regulations.  Refer to the ENA ER G87 to see if this applies to you.

PropertyRun’s Electrical Contracting Team are experienced in installing Rising and Lateral Mains to ensure Compliance with all Current Safety Regulations.

Each of the teams is aware of the importance of holistically approaching projects and collaborating closely with the entire design team to avoid the production of disjointed designs that result in unnecessary compromises and a multitude of variation costs once construction begins.

In addition to working towards unified design strategies, we also ensure that proper attention is given to critical spatial coordination issues via our in-house CAD coordination staff. Our engineers keep up to date with the latest regulatory changes and energy efficiency related guidelines from CIBSE, BREEAM etc.
